Terezin  Concentration Camp WW II

Discover a real Nazi concentration camp  from World War Two. Go see the original „bedrooms“ and military barracks of prisoners…

Terezin was founded as a military fortress against Prussians by the Czech kings in 1780. The city is formed by barracks, strong fortification and a system of underground halls and cellars connecting the town from underneath.

Terezin became a concentration camp in November 1941 after Hitler defeated France and could start pushing to the East.

The tour is divided into 4 stops. First is the Small Fortress, in WWII originally used for Czech Jewish prisoners, here you will see the Place of execution, the bedrooms, shower and shaving rooms, „swimming pool“, yards with cells as well as the houses for commandants and Museum of Terezin.

From here you will move to stop 2,  the Museum of the Ghetto to watch the short propaganda film as well as to hear the story of the fate of kids gone through Terezin with their names written on the walls. Further you will be explained here about the laws and restrictions imposed on Czech Jews in WWII.

Stop 3 is the Magdeburg Barracks. Here you will be explained about the propaganda function of Terezin. You will hear a story of a Red Cross visit to Terezin in 1944, about the „beautificiation of the Ghetto“ life of the inprisoned Jewish artists…

Stop 4 is the Jewish cemetery from WW II – you will visit the crematorium with four stoves and will see the mass graves as well as hundreds of honorary numbered headstones…

The crematorium is unvalaible to visit on Saturdays.
